I could pretend that ordering a little flat-pack table was solely so that BB, who likes assembling kits like booknooks
and complex wooden models
(this is a u-gears kit, when you turn the big wheel a secret compartment is revealed)
was an act of kindness, giving him a larger scale kit to 'play' with. I'm afraid it was nothing of the sort; I've been turning over ideas to help resolve the chaos occupying half the settee where I usually sit. BB made short work of putting the pieces together, and now I have a neat little table beside the settee with three shelves underneath;
Not only that, but lookee lookee;
The top swivels! I can bring my sewing basket / tea tray / whatever I like over to me, within reach.
I think this will be a solution...

That's lovely! Well done to your BB
ReplyDeleteIt's a cheap and cheerful flat-pack, but quite soon I will have completely concealed the surface with bits and pieces...
DeleteI like the turntable top a lot. I could go for that.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think I'd find the turntable to be such a nifty thing, but it's great.
DeleteI really like that table! Next to my chair I have an incredibly untidy tea trolley with three shelves.
ReplyDeleteMy parents each adopted the large tea trolley as their personal sidetable in turn... every shelf was FULL!
DeleteThat's an impressive useful table.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying it. It's proving useful.
DeleteYour husband's handwork is beautiful and quite taxing, I should think.
ReplyDeleteYour new table has been put to good use already.
If my husband had his way, we would have as many small tables as we have extraneous chairs. I am fighting a losing battle. Apparently, he abhors a vacuum and MUST fill it.
We both a) abhor vacuums and b) deplore clutter, especially each other's. Life has to be a compromise!
