That was one of the first tunes I learnt to play on the piano. Years later, a parent asked if any of the teachers had a copy and I was so pleased to oblige with my 'Golden Book of Hymns.'
I came home from (Baptist) Sunday school as a small child, in tears. I explained to my Mother : “Jesus wants me as a sunbeam and I don’t want to go” !!!!
I'm an older person who used to sing it in Sunday school!

DeleteI remember it too. Except as a child I used to sing "I'll be a Sum Bean for him" (I always did like maths!)
