Sunday 28th July

Whatever the weather, this will always hold true!

In the description it says that this hymn is only remembered by older people... but is that really true?

  1. I'm an older person who used to sing it in Sunday school!

    1. I'm an older person who never went to Sunday school; these old songs are mostly new to me!

  2. I remember it too. Except as a child I used to sing "I'll be a Sum Bean for him" (I always did like maths!)

  3. That was one of the first tunes I learnt to play on the piano. Years later, a parent asked if any of the teachers had a copy and I was so pleased to oblige with my 'Golden Book of Hymns.'

  4. Definitely a Baptist Chapel Sunday School hymn from the 1960s.
I wonder if it's sung now anywhere

    1. Probably only at 'tea and fellowship meetings', or by grandparents to grandchildren?

  5. I came home from (Baptist) Sunday school as a small child in tears one day. I explained that “Jesus wants me as a sunbeam and I don’t want to go”
