....a new vacuum cleaner?
We picked up a replacement vacuum cleaner yesterday. They do have a tendency to look like serious handyman tools; the old one looked (to me, anyway) like some kind of high- pressure chemical sprayer
It has given years of sterling service, coping with long hair, cat hair and everything else that came its way. But, sadly, it's reached the end.
Enter the Bazooka!
Still a Dyson, but one that must have eaten its own weight in muscle building vitamins. BB gave it a test drive this morning and did the whole house on max power in one charge.
This model reminds me of an amazing toy we got one year called an 'air bazooka', a large but incredibly simple contraption that would send a puff of air across a room. You could aim the air at a target (like an unsuspecting person) and they would feel a personal waft of a breeze even though we were all indoors. Hours of amusement guaranteed.
The colours of my beside rug, an old Persian rug from my parent's house, have come up all shiny and glowing like jewels. Just lovely.
Who thought that buying a vacuum cleaner and doing the housework could bring so much happiness and pleasure!

My husband was over the moon buying a new vacuum.. we now have a Shark, called Sharkie, its too heavy for me to use, isn't that a shame!!
ReplyDeleteMine has said ours is too heavy for me! I'm not arguing.
DeleteA proper vacuum is a necessary tool for keeping the house clean. A new and efficient one is a good reason to be happy :)
ReplyDeleteWrestling with inefficient tools is just depressing!
DeleteI really really need a new 'hoover' but there are so many ads on TV that I'm debating which to get.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with yours!
I'm not going to be the one having lots of fun with it as it's quite heavy, but husband is very impressed. I'm getting my happiness from seeing the difference it has made to the floors. I might speak it out for a little go thought!
DeleteI love new household appliances providing they work well, I bought an extending cob-web brush the other day for the grand sum of £9. I said to the sales assistant how happy it made me and wasn't that pathetic and she said no she could quite see how it would fill me with joy. Things that make live easier even if just for cleaning are great.Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteOh, those cobwebs! Anything that is effective against them brings me such joy!
Viola
Thank you for your lovely comment. I was able to read it using Google translate. Visiting the art exhibition with good friends, and then coffee and cake afterwards sounds like a perfect outing, I wish I could have been there!
ReplyDeleteNew appliances bring a ridiculous amount of joy, and watching someone else using them even more.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, especially the latter!
