Good evening! Or good morning, or afternoon or what ever time it is for you
And still the flowers and cards and kind messages keep arriving! My no-longer Christmassy hearth now looks like this;
With two enormous bouquets to welcome in the lengthening days. I've kept the candles from the Advent ring switched on, and that little wooden carved Nativity stays there all year round anyway.
My brother is doing the bulk of letting everyone know about our father; he must have sent out over 200 emails so far. I've sent a dozen or so... he had so many friends and colleagues from the various organisations he had been involved with over the years.
.......
I've done a tiny amount of stitching today. Here's the picture from the booklet and my plan is to finish it tomorrow. It occurred to me that the mice could just as easily be clearing away their decorations as putting them up... of course, they too will be keeping the Christmas lights on until Candlemas like me! I need to add the little mouse and the tinsel to complete the scene. Which scene will I tackle next? The kitchen? Or one of the bedrooms?
From The Lord's Prayer; Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil
Holding on to this thought has curbed many a snippy snappy remark... we're both incredibly tired today.
It is lovely that so many friends have sent kind words, and flowers. Take care of yourself (and each other) An inspired thought on your part, that mice could just as easily be taking down as putting up the decorations 🎄🌲🎄🌲
ReplyDeleteI'm rather passed with that idea!
DeletePleased, not passed!
DeleteI wonder if you had the time to finish it today. The finished one (from the booklet) shows just how cute it looks all finished. I didn't realize that there were more such scenes with the mice. What a cute idea.
ReplyDeleteIt is very cute! Spoiler alert; it's 9.30 pm on Tuesday and.... I haven't finished it yet!
