'Walking' long distance paths
A few days ago I finished my Conquerer Event virtual trail and sent off for my medal. It arrived today.
I am now two and a half miles along the Cotswold Way... that will keep me motivated for another couple of months.
Post
BB (Best Beloved, or in other words my husband) walked round to the post office with three packages for me; the cover story is on its way to Ang, a book to a friend, and a card to another friend who has come down with covid. It's clearly still out there, she's the third of my friends to have caught it this spring. Take care, all you lovely people, and stay away from people with coughs and sniffles if you can!
Book
I've been looking through this... I find people very hard to draw. Although the title made me smile; I imagined it being full of instructions on how to cover people with paint really quickly, presumably before they had a chance to run away?
I remembered to check the comments awaiting moderation for the first time in months, so apologies if yours was one that got missed.
Music
This is a jolly little jig, the first movement from the St Paul's Suite by Gustav Holst. He composed it for St Paul's School for Girls in 1913 when he was teaching there.
I will try and get CoverStory in the post soon. Been busy Grandparenting!
ReplyDeleteNo hurry! I've forgotten to photograph graph mine, could you send me one when it arrives?
DeleteAnd I immediately thought “how to draw a person in thirty seconds or less”.
ReplyDeleteLooking at how skillful her illustrations are, she probably can!
DeleteYour method of achieving steps is inspired . Well done!
ReplyDeleteIt gets me off the settee!
DeleteWhat a sprightly little jig! Music to do housework to?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing the 100 mile trek. Whatever motivates you is a good thing.
I'm still a kid at heart! Stars and stickers and medals do it every time!
DeleteI really love Holst's St. Paul's Suite it is so happy and joyful sounding. I now have a vision of people queuing up to be covered in paint, all various colours, very quickly! Congratulations on completing the Jurassic walk. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteI had Ang in mind as the one with the paint brush after all the kitchen painting and also her love of wordplay!
DeleteWhat a great way to be inspired to walk! Well done with the steps
ReplyDeleteThere is also a conversion table for working out equivalents in all sorts of activities from gym workouts to ballet and yoga, so that you can add them to your travel distance- very nifty
DeleteJust a heads up, I found a load of comments in the spam folder! They sneak into there when you don't expect it!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the 'virtual walk' and I wonder if I could do it in five minute slices - thank you for the inspiration!
Yes, I need to check the spam folder more often.
DeleteThe virtual walks are great. Yellowsone park took me along trails and up mountains that I could never manage. It links to Google maps so you can use the little yellow man to show you the scenery.
