and fish and vegetables and chilled water and coffee and biscuits and sausage rolls and bread and honey
I'm aware of how blessed I am, but how very, very blessed I am, to be able to go the kitchen and think 'what would I like,e for breakfast, or lunch, or for a snack, or for supper. And if there's nothing in the fridge or freezer or cupboard that suits my mood, I can go round to the corner shop and buy something else.
Appeals from charities providing clean water, running food banks or providing famine relief just highlight how fortunate I am, and how important that those who have, need to learn to be generous towards those who have not.

I don't think I've come across the composer Annabel Rooney. She is a composer, teacher and cellist living in Devon. This is her setting of the Lord's Prayer.
Eating our meals mindfully [and maybe saying a prayer of thanks] is important - acknowledging that we are blessed with food choices, when so many have so little to eat
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely variety of food too! We've been talking a lot about food in our house as some changes have to be made.
ReplyDeleteThe advertisements come on as we are eating our supper in front on the television. It makes me painfully aware of the cruel inequality.
ReplyDeleteThe things we take for granted would be a feast for so many others.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful every day, several times a day, for fresh, clean water at the turn of a tap.
Absolutely. When we lived in Indonesia we expats had to boil every drop of our drinking water even though it came out of a tap.

ReplyDelete"How true and how grateful I am, counting my blessings every day and giving thanks, donating what we can and praying that supplies can get through to those starving. Clean water is a necessity of life yet so many don't have access or easy access to it. Water Aid is a good charity. The singing in your music choice today is wonderful. Regards Sue H"
