It has started.
On Monday when I brought in the milk I discovered a slug climbing up the outside of the bottle. A woodlouse scurried out from underneath.
On Tuesday I found a snail inside the kitchen, tucked into the top corner of the kitchen door.
On Wednesday there was another small woodlouse hiding under the soap dish in the bathroom.
They are growing bolder.
I have the clear plastic box and piece of card ready to deal with the 🕷 🕷 🕷!
It's definitely the season for bugs. It's always a good idea to be prepared.
ReplyDeleteI know most of the spidey hidey holes in our house now!
DeleteWe have many 🕷🕷🕷
ReplyDeleteMy mother used to leave conkers lying around in corners because she had read it kept them away. No idea if it worked.
DeleteMy 'Spider Removal Kit' consists of a wide-rimmed glass cup (a relic from the '60s) and a CD in a plastic pocket. I found cardboard too bendy so my eight-legged nemesis could escape, but a CD in a plastic pocket is thin and rigid. Sometimes the cup is too small and I have to use a small glass mixing bowl.
ReplyDeleteA cd in a pocket sounds good... some of the spiders around now are monsters
DeleteWe don't get slugs inside, do get a few woodlice in the conservatory but we do get quite a few very large🕷inside. I have a real phobia about spiders, It is them or me so I have a great spider catcher invention we purchased from a large on line shop. It works very well, so far over the last two weeks we have caught and set free in the garden 8. Of course it could be the same one sneaking back inside each time. When our cat was still alive she used to play with them and we would find half dead spiders with missing legs dotted about the carpet! Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteNone of our cats were interested in spiders; we've had 6 over our married life. But several were very exercised my daddy-long-legs. We used to be able to hold one up, supporting his bottom and back, leaving him with both front paws free, and sweep him around the room at ceiling level so he could catch them!
