to tell me something?
First off in the mornings, once I'm settled with breakfast (toast today) and coffee, I check my emails, update my virtual journey (through the Lake District at the moment) read the blogs on my 'feedly' app, write up the previous day in my diary, and finally get round the the morning prayer on the Lectio app.
(I guess many people including me might think morning prayer should come higher on the list. I'm not going to follow that hare today.)
Today's blogs reads included Trundling through life - she posted a modern paraphrase of the Beatitudes.
Tracing Rainbows on being thankful (even if we didn't appreciate the gift at the time)
Lectio; Holy Spirit, awaken me to the fullness of life you offer to me and to the whole world.
Church zoom service; the story of the ten lepers who were healed, and only one came back to Jesus to give thanks.
It looks as though appreciating your blessings, and expressing gratitude for them was to be a common theme running through my day.
I hope you can find blessings in the week to come, even if there are some gritty bits to get through. Noticing the blessings and expressing gratitude is a sure way to lift your life out of the doldrums.
Have a good week
It's so easy to work along in the rut of grumbling. I do it too much.
ReplyDeleteI tend to express my opinion very noisily when I'm made cross by something or someone, and then frequently have to climb down. Better to have held my peace while I thought it through first!
DeleteIt has definitely been a Count Your Blessings sort of day here
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely easier counting blessings on some days, especially on sunny afternoons like today.
