I've not done much except reading and listening to audiobooks this week. Here's a poem and a song for 'dark' on my November scavenger hunt..
Bleib' bei uns, denn es will Abend werden,
Und der Tag hat sich geneiget, sich geneiget,
O bleib' bei uns, denn es will Abend werden.
Words Luke 24 v. 29
TRANSLATION
Bide with us, for evening shadows darken,
And the day will soon be over, soon be over,
O bide with us, for evening shadows darken.
Tr. John Rutter (b. 1945)

I always think Emily Dickinson was so before her time. I find she is not easy to read but well worth persisting. The singing is divine thank you. Regards Sue H

DeleteI dip into my Emily dickinson very often, and always find something of value.
ReplyDeleteI struggle with ED and have only, so far, got to grips with a few of her poems. This one is new to me.
DeleteSometimes her words are just right for the moment. I have enjoyed her work since my teens
ReplyDeleteThis poem is a 'keeper'.
DeleteBeautiful, all of it.
ReplyDeleteThank you
