Sunday 9th November - Red, and Remembrance Sunday

Ang's patch for me for last November was on remembering, and included poppies. I've added several paper poppies that I've accumulated overthe years, and the pin badges that were issued in 2014.

My two great uncles, my grandmother's younger brothers, both died in the Great War. At the time of course, it was never called the First World War; the idea that people would engage in such a slaughter again was inconceivable. What must my grandmother have thought, and all the others, who had gone through the Great War.

Pray for peace.

I was looking for something else when I tripped across this from 8th November 2020

  1. I buy the little brooches each year. I've got them on quite a few garments now.

    1. I'd rather have the brooch than the paper poppy. It's awkward as the fabric on many modern coats and jackets is damaged by pinning something on it though.

  2. Such a sad DAY for too many families. Loved the Remembrance Concert last evening.
