Saturday 13th December - ho hum

Not every day is packed full of excitement.

Some days are just bits and bobs, this and that...

How about some Beethoven Bagatelles op 33 played by Alicia de Larroccha

You might recognise no 3 as the music for the original BBC radio programme 'A book at bedtime'.

  1. I had a ticket for a concert of hers years ago, big demand, got it months ahead. I'd only heard recordings. Came the night, she looked ill and tired, played inaccurately, such a disappointment. But I remembered she's a human being who can have off nights. Oh,well. There are good recordings anyway.

    1. What a pity, It must be tough, as a performer, having to decide whether to carry on or pull out of an engagement. You took a kind and compassionate view of her performance at any rate.

  2. Most days around here aren't packed with excitement either lol. Thanks for the music. It was very soothing.

    1. Some days seem too hum-drum to even write up in a diary, let alone post in a blog. But then, that's how real life should be. It would be exhausting if we all lived like characters in soap operas.

  3. Some of those Beethoven pieces were so familiar to me from when my girls took piano. Lovely.

    1. And to me too from my own student and piano teaching days. They are little gems.

  4. Even in an 'ordinary' day there can be lovely moments, a visit from a friend, an unepected postal delivery, a good book......
