I made that up.
I've got a number of nearly finished projects and I have decided that today and tomorrow are the days for sorting them out.
Starting with this;
The experimental patchwork cardigan. This is the back - I had less than 8 inches left of the last panel left to sew, and I finally, after much procrastinating completed it at morning coffee time. About half an hour was all it took, including sewing in all the ends, and probably about ten pound's weight off my mind. I've already made a start on the front
I've a few rows to add the the current double knitting square, and about an hour's stitching to add to a patch that has been stalled for about a month while the Double Knitting Collaboration with Ang absorbed my interest.
Yesterday I sorted some books to sell back to wob or donate to charity if wob won't take them. This morning I updated my piano teaching records and put away a couple of sets of knitting needles that were cluttering up my life.
Maybe 'Manic Monday' would have been a better title for today's post - I seem to begin every week full of enthusiasm and then crash out the next day... I'll write that idea down for next Monday's post!
I'm learning to accept that I'm a great starter of things, but not so good at finishing them off!
'Snurretoppen' means 'Spinning Top'.
Meanwhile, my step target took a bit of a dive last week, unsurprisingly, although as the cooler weather returned I did manage a marathon effort on Sunday so I reckon I might well meet my target of 100,000 in June. Which makes me very happy!

I',m a champion of starting and never finishing things so understand. I won't pretend to having motivation this morning. We've got the heat warnings today. I went to bed comfortable but it heated out and got humid overnight with air just stagnant.
ReplyDeleteThat's how it's been here last week. Today I'm wearing a cardigan!!!
DeleteA finishing up time sounds good. A month might dent the pile . . .
ReplyDeleteWell, many a mickle might make a muckle?
DeleteJust finishing off the second of the next DoubleKnitting square. Ready to swap when you are
ReplyDeleteI have two ready - this was one of a 'stash' pair! Give me a day or so for the write up and packing etc... maybe post on Thursday?

DeleteThe patchwork cardigan is going to be a treasure!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit experimental... I've still got the neck line to solve
DeleteYour cardi is going to be very colourful, I used to have several things on the go, these days I struggle with one.. love the piano music1
ReplyDeleteEverything stalled out, including the cardigan, firstly because the New Project, a collaboration with Ang, and then because of the heat. Now I can restart.
DeleteThose two little pieces are delightful 😊
Wonder if one can get a Degree in Staring/not finishing. I'd get a First.
ReplyDeleteJudging by everyone's comments, I'm wondering if this isn't part of being normal!
DeleteThe yarn in the cardigan is really pretty. So colourful.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to do steps in the heat, better to take it easy and get back on track when the weather cools down.
You are so right...
DeleteYour cardigan back looks so soft and pretty colours. Well done on doing anything. I always reflect on my day each evening and no matter how small anything attempted/completed I give myself a virtual pat on the back. I have just wiped all the window ledges downstairs with a damp cloth and put everything back in place after cleaning/dusting the items or in the case of plants watering them and getting rid of dead leaves etc. Then on a roll I vacuumed the sitting room carpet and mopped the hall and dining room. I now need a coffee. The Spinning Top made me smile because my niece just sent me a video of her daughter my great niece playing The Spinning Song at a little concert her music teacher put on. My great niece is 10 and tiny and she looks swamped sitting at a grand piano but she did very well. Well done on the step count. We have only just started our walks outside again after the heatwave, it feels so good. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteA mop! That's what I keep forgetting to buy!
DeleteMy word, what a busy start to the day; sometimes one can just whirl through the housework like Snow White in the Seven Dwarves's cottage, other times one just sits and looks and mutters 'later'.
It's actually raining (ish) here this morning.
This morning was out of the ordinary. I am more the "later" type, which quite often I never get to later! Sue H
DeleteI generally have a housework slump after such housework madness, and none gets done for weeks!
