It is a tradition in our family that we produce "wish lists".
Here's mine, in no particular order

Commonplace Book called 'Thistles in Aspic'

Knitting stitch markers with little clips, like these;
The clips mean that you can reposition them along the needle or in the knitted fabric, unlike the sort that are closed loops. Also, clip fasteners stop them from escaping.
I tend to use both thin needles (up to 5mm) and thick ones (6-10 mm) depending on the thickness of the yarn.
Charms with too many sticky outy bits might get snagged. Simpler shapes are better. (These are from woolwarehouse; they call this type 'crochet' stitch markers for some reason)

I love used copies- especially if they have inscriptions. Food for thought...
