April 1st - Shrodingers Cat

is alive and well, and living at our house.

Leo has developed an uncanny knack of being both in front of me and behind me at the same time, so that wherever I try and walk she is always underfoot.

Life-size cat figure in the garden of Huttenstrasse 9, Zurich, where Erwin Schrödinger lived 1921–1926. Depending on the light conditions, the cat appears either alive or dead.

It is also true to say that, depending on the light conditions, she also appears either alive or dead. As in scampering around for a brief 10 second burst of energy, or sound asleep, curled in a basket in the sun. Although then snoring can be a bit of a reassurance.

The cats arrived as tiny kittens in Spring 2003, on the same day that our Canadian friends came to stay. After sixteen years we have learned to adapt to their idiosyncrasies.
