Knitty-Gritty - Friday 9th December - Norwegian purl, and cables

Getting my head around the Norwegian Purl method of doing purl (and incidentally improving how I do the knit stitch as well) has been a game changer.

I don't mind doing purl at all now which has opened up a whole world of patterns to enjoy.

I may even have more luck with lace stitches when I get round to trying them again.

In the meantime, the other game changer has been buying a new cable needle;

This little pinkish-purplish needle with the magic 'hooplah' in the middle to dlay the moment at which all the stitches that you have temporarily transferred to the needle suddenly make a bid for freedom when your attention is elsewhere.  

That little swatch was accomplished with minimal cursing and mutterings.

I am crowing with delight!
