Thursday 5th December - waiting...

Waiting... not for Christmas, but for my teeny tiny paintbrushes!  I'm learning patience. That's the thing about buying things online. Every time I hear the letterbox rattle I go and have a look...

Today's contribution to Advent preparations was tidying the yarn stash, chucking the really horrible leftovers (neon orange nylon sock yarn, anyone? I thought so) and in the process discovering more bits and pieces for the next charity shop run. Hooray! Anything that leaves the house, by way of charity shop, or handed to a friend who would like it, or INTO the bin/recycling bin is a win in my book.

Meanwhile I have been practicing with the smallest brushes I have; yesterday's art challenge; fill the page with guinea pigs. Why guinea pigs? It was quite fun to do brownish blobs. The ones with pink feet are the examples. And a bit of splattering always improves a dodgy page in my opinion. We had friends who built a great guinea pig run in the garden, with drain pipe tunnels and everything a guinea pig could want.

'Now fill the page with trees'. OK. I added five to the little copse already drawn at the bottom.

I've a zoom after supper, so I knuckled down to sewing the Corinne Lapierre calendar thus afternoon,  having cut out the pieces this morning. The shapes for the smaller toadstool were very fiddly.

What about house work? Cleaning? Sorry, could you speak up a bit, I seem to have gone a bit deaf...

I just love those Guinea pigs!
I’ve been thinking about you the last few days lying here in hospital on Oxygen and beginning to understand what your life must be like.
I always read your blog so thank you for keeping me company Jx

    1. Thank you re guinea pigs! They were remarkably easy, if one isn't trying too hard.
I'm sorry to read that you are in hospital. I hope it's temporary and you can get home soon. I have found that the benefits I get from oxygen far outweigh the hassle and inconvenience, and I hope it's making you feel better too.

    2. I don't think I put that very well, what I mean to say is I FEEL so much better using oxygen; I have more energy and less brain fog!

  2. We have a day just for hobbies, nothing else gets done! Practice makes perfect, keep going.

  3. Wow, I love your arty pieces. I wish I could draw or paint. I'm terrible at it. My husband and my son can draw really well, but don't do it often.

    1. Hello Sharon! Thank you! My school teachers told me I was no good at art but I decided to have a go in my fifties, reading how-to books and watching YouTube. And, most importantly, not caring too much about the result! I'm pleased at the guinea pigs... the splodges and scribbles seem to have worked out OK...
