That was one of the items brought forward from yesterday's to do list. Although I now remember that I did clean Huggy Bear. I bought him (for me!) in the newly opened Habitat store back in 1977 when I was at University. As you can see, he's in a bit of a state. 'DO NOT WASH THIS TOY' instructed a small label. I had to was his back which had something sticky on it, and I reckoned he was stuffed with kapok judging y the way he soaked up the water. It's a good job I didn't try and put the whole of him into a tub!
I cleaned the hearth, evicting spiders, wiping away accumulated dust and cobwebs. Then I reused the old outside wreath and created an instant Advent ring. It's just the wreath with battery operated candles arranged inside! So simple! We've changed over completely to battery candles because of home oxygen. Four of the candles are switched off, and the remaining one can be switched on with a remote! (But I do have a hankering for the real flames....)
Well done giving the bear a clean! I really should clean my Pink Panther who sleeps with me - he's 42 years old but I am worried he wouldn't survive!
ReplyDeleteIt was a bit scary in case I made him worse
DeleteI don't have your oxygen problem but I've got LED candles now and, like you, I still hanker after the real thing.
ReplyDeleteI bought the first ones back in 2019 after we gave one to my 95 year old godmother. I knew she loved candles but didn't dare have real ones any more. A battery one was the perfect solution.
