Thursday 2nd May - A mystery

How is this bit of rough verge, which I photographed last week:


 
going to look like this in just a few week's time? I photographed the lupins in the same place as the spring flowers above, but at the end of May LAST year. 


The lupins are about three or four feet tall, and there's no sign of them at the moment in amongst the daffodils and early bluebells and nettles. Are they really going to shoot up at the rate of six inches per week? That's an inch a day. Whoosh!?


I shall have to keep an eye on this patch of ground and see how they grow.
