Saturday 10th December - Arctic Weather

I've been watching the frost on the roof tiles of the bungalows; they have remained frosted all day.

I don't remember a cold spell like this since, oh, Peterborough  40 years ago. We were the only ones in our street of brand new houses with that 'new-fangled' cavity wall insulation, and our walls stayed covered with frost for about a week.

We always open the bathroom window for a short while if we have had a bath or shower to help disperse the condensation. I did so as usual today, but for no longer than it took me to close it again!

I shall be donating some money to a charity called warmwelcome.uk which aims to support places setting up a warm space to go in this cold weather.
