BUNGALOW (or rather, time to seriously sort ourselves out)
long before we go anywhere near getting the gas fire (that we haven't used in years) serviced - this one;
Or replacing the bedroom carpet (no, I'm NOT sharing a picture of that!)
We need to concentrate on getting STUFF out of our house first.
Today, after browsing a bit, and reading a couple of book samples on amazon, I was inspired by a man who got rid of thousands of items from his house in the USA in a matter of months.
I've made a list to get myself started; I want to remove 10 things in these 20 categories;
- The shelves by my worktable
- The dining room table
- The pine cabinet of filing drawers
- The shelves above the piano
- Items of (my) clothing
- The Kitchen
- The larger spare bedroom
- Thee small spare bedroom
- Hall/stairs/landing areas
- Craft stash
- Pens and pencils
- Trinkets
- Ephemera (old cards etc)
- Plastic food storage containers like tupperware
- Top junk drawer
- Middle junk drawer
- Bottom junk drawer
- Garden sheds (my stuff)
- Music books.
- Bookshelves in sitting room
KNITTING
I wanted to get the poncho finished by 14th March, and it was done today;
Here are to two identically sized pieces laid short side of the lighter, yellowy piece to the long side of the dar piece ready for the first seam;
I dont know if you have larger Charity shops specialising in furniture and electrics? We have the BHF and a Hospice shop who will come and collect furniture items to be sold in the shops. Really useful,
ReplyDeleteWe have a local Churches Together organisation which collects, sells and gives away furniture. I'll be contacting them when we get to that stage. They have their warehouse right next to a storage company which could prove very handy!
DeleteWell done. I always fancied playing the saxophone - but I'm not musical, and struggled with the recorder at school. Bob says in your decluttering, if you find a cajon hidden in a cupboard, he'd like it, please. I asked him to spell it - then got confused and wondered why he wanted a French Canadian from Louisiana. But that's cajun. He knows more about musical instruments than I.
ReplyDeleteYes, seriously, that's on the list to go in due course, I'll save it for him! Kirsten
