I'm trying to sort out my stiff neck. Changing my pillows has helped, but I know what I really need to do. Give up playing freecell, or at least reduce the amount of time I spend, or more accurately, waste on it.
All I have to show for the time is a stiff neck. Hence, tactical knitting!
I must have bought the pattern over a year ago. I wanted a simple, short. bright, chunky winter cardigan and this seemed to fit the bill. And 'now' has become the right moment.
The King Cole 'Timeless' yarn just comes in simple, slightly subdued colours, but this King Cole 'Explorer' yarn is much more exciting. Each ball has a self-striping mix of colours so it's always interesting, even though it's such a simple pattern, entirely in knit with no purl.
So now, when I feel the freecell urge creeping up on me I can reach for my knitting. On 10mm needles and with only 52 stitches across the back it's growing very quickly.
I'm so looking forward to being able to wear it.
Had to look up freecell - read the description on wiki and didn't understand a word!

ReplyDeleteAbout your stiff neck: are you avoiding looking down where possible? I've taken to knitting, stitching,reading lying down with the work on a pillow. It relieved my neck a lot. Just a thought.
you are right. Too much looking down. Working at a table instead of on my lap certainly helps. I haven't tried lying down yet though.

I think this is how people get addicted to on- line gaming apps. It's too easy to have one more go.
