This is one of the hymns used today at zoom church. The words are st Richard's. He was a 13th century bishop of Chichester, and is celebrated on 16th June, Sussex Day.
I just had a quick look at St Richard's entry in Wikipedia, and I love that he was merciless to usurers. He seems to have been stern, but he at least stuck to his principles. Thank you for sharing this.
Richard of Chichester looks like being a Good Egg if a bit of a prickly character (though I daresay he would have preferred a more formal appreciation)
I think that the basics of faith don't age.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the music. It's beautiful.
