Saturday 1st November - Spring? Summer?

Walking home in a bit of a hurry this lunchtime, I spotted a rhododendron in flower




and also a hydrangea.


In November.

Earlier this morning I noticed that there were still flowers on a neighbour's lavender hedge.

Weird or what?
